highlights

Some notable events have transpired since my last blog post. And... go!

We adopted another kitten. Her name is Ella.

I started playing roller hockey again. It's very European.

I learned Python. It's just as enjoyable as Groovy, but more marketable.

We shipped WebSphere CloudBurst 1.0.0.0. It was exhilarating and gut-wrenching, all at the same time.

I worked hard on WebSphere CloudBurst 1.1.0.0. It has been less exhilarating, but also less gut-wrenching.

I hiked sixty miles through the desert in attempt to un-wrench myself. Results were mixed.

I shaved my head. It was time.

Finally, I vowed to actually use all of the vacation time given to me by IBM. I was recently reminded that unless the work I do in lieu of vacation leads to a raise that is significantly more than the sum of three weeks salary, then refusing vacation is equivalent to returning compensation to the company. I used to know that, but in the heat of battle, one can sometimes lose context. My posting frequency during December will reveal whether this advice has sunk in or not.
